I Survived Field Trip #2 {Five for Friday}

We went to Cowtown!
We toured and explored a farm set up like in the 1880s.
Our tour guide was great about teaching the boys and girls
what their chores would be if they lived during that time.

This wagon would be hooked up to a saw or other tool.
The kids are pretending to be two horses, powering the "treadmill."

Part of farm life is taking care of the animals.
Chickens were probably taken care of by the girls.

We also got to tour the inside of the farm house.
Looks a lot different than we're used to!

We walked across the street to the Botanica Gardens
This was a little hard for my kids to handle.
Stay on the path?! Don't trample the plants?! What?!
Very lovely place to visit, but we might not go there again...

Our Mother's Day gifts...
The cosmos never flowered. Hopefully the kids take care
of them at home and get to see them flower!
On the inside of our cards, we wrote sentences like,
"Thank you for..." or "You're the best mom because..."

Whew! I don't know about you, but I'm thankful for this weekend! I'm exhausted!

  1. We have a similar place in my hometown. Sovereign Hill is set up as an 1850's gold town

    1. I would like seeing other field trips "back in time." I think my kids have enjoyed ours.
      Thanks for dropping by!

  2. We once took a field trip to a place that let the kids churn butter. That was eye-opening as most of the kids thought butter came from the grocery store! Enjoyed your Five for Friday!

    Have a great weekend!

    1. That is fun! Our farmhouse tour guide told the kids about making butter and some of the tools they would use, but the kids didn't actually get to make the butter. We did, for Thanksgiving, shake and make butter in a jar, though. The kids really enjoyed that!
Thanks for stopping by (and deciding to follow me)!
